Banketstaaf (pastry filled with marzipan).
2 sheets of puff pastry
125 grams of marzipan
2 eggs
½ table spoon lemon juice
Preheat the oven to 225 degrees C
Defrost the puff pastry sheets
Grease a baking tray
Whisk one egg with the lemon juice and mix half of this mixture with the marzipan.  Form a roll out of the mixture.
Lay the pastry sheets next to each other with a slight overlap.  Place the marzipan roll in the centre of the pastry.  Fold over the pastry and with cold water seal the seams.
Place the roll, seam down onto the  baking tray.
Whisk the second eggs and brush the pastry all over with the egg.
Bake in the centre of the oven in about 20-25 minutes until cooked and golden brown.
