Taai-taai  (spiced cake).

250 gms flour 
100 gms honey 
1 tablespoon syrup 
1/2 teaspoon salt 
1/2 teaspoon Bicarb of soda 
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
3 teaspoons cinnamon 
1 teaspoon anise 
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg 
1 teaspoon ground cloves 
3 1/2 tablespoons water 

Heat the honey on a low heat and stir the syrup into it. Let it 
cool. Sift the flour and add the salt, bicarbonate of soda, baking powder,
cinnamon, aniseed, nutmeg, cloves.

Mix the cooled mixture of honey and syrup into the flour mixture 
until a thick dough. Add the water while mixing.

Roll out the dough until about 1/2 inch thick.

Make your little figures and put on a greased baking tray or simply 
put straight onto the baking tray.

Bake in oven for plus minus 25 minutes at 180C. When cooled, cut
into squares.
 
These cookies improve over time and you should bake them a few days before eating them.
